Was is a fractional marketing leader?

A fractional marketing leader is a Chief Marketing Officer or VP of Marketing who works for you part-time.

What type of companies do you work with?

B2B SaaS companies who are committed to marketing their solutions, and allocate sufficient budget and resources to deliver results.

What size of companies do you work with?

From $1m – $100m ARR.

What sectors and industries have you worked in?

I have worked on marketing for SaaS companies selling to a wide range of industries, including construction, cybersecurity, design, education, hospitality and public sector.

How long do you typically work with a client?

That depends on the client’s needs. Some clients have retained my services for years. Others just need me for a short time to get their marketing back on track.

What is the minimum time commitment?

Three months.

What work is involved on our side?

You need to clearly define your business objectives, and brief me on both your product(s) and past marketing activities.

Who would you report to?

I usually report to either the CMO, Chief Revenue Officer, CEO or Founder.

What can we expect in terms of deliverables?

A documented strategy and marketing plan which aligns with your business objectives, following by marketing execution and reporting on agreed KPIs.

How long does it take to see results?

1-3 months.

How do you report results?

The progress of marketing activities are reported on a regular cadence along with agreed KPIs. These can be communicated in a manner to suit your organization. Common reporting formats are email, Slack messages, SharePoint, HubSpot or LookerStudio dashboard.

How much does it cost to work with you?

The minimum client engagement is one day per week for a minimum of three months. Fees are invoiced monthly at a day rate of US$1,500. Therefore, the minimum financial commitment is US$6,000 per month for three months. Fees can be invoiced in the currency of your choice (CAD, GBP, EUR, AUD etc).

What marketing stack do you use?

I am experienced in working with a wide variety of marketing software to manage and deliver results, including CRMs (HubSpot, SalesForce etc), CMSs (HubSpot, WordPress, Drupal etc), marketing automations, marketing integrations and reporting tools. If required, I can advise you on the best marketing software to fit your needs. I do not work for any software vendor, and do not receive any compensation for the product recommendations I make.

Can you manage our marketing team?

Yes, I am experienced at leading and managing marketing teams of up to 25 people working remotely in multiple countries and timezones.

Can you help us build a marketing team?

Yes. As your marketing needs grow, I can help you to recruit additional resources to build out your team.

What are the differences between you and a marketing consultant?

Marketing consultants assess your situation and make strategic recommendations. Most do not want to get involved in the day-to-day job of delivering results or managing a team.

What are the differences between you and a marketing agency?

Marketing agencies work on either a project or retainer basis. They have their processes and deadlines which they impose upon you. In contrast, I work embedded within your business and adapt to your processes while working to your deadlines.
